Unique patterns for quilts, wall hangings and bags

Welcome to Cotton Street Commons, a collection of patterns for quilts, wall hangings, bags and even aprons. Cotton Street Commons was started about 2 years ago; however, I have been designing for many years as the former co-owner and designer of Abbey Lane Quilts. The designs are eclectic and whimsical with a fresh, modern touch. Often asked where the designs come from, I can tell you that some start with beautiful fabrics and a pattern that will show them off. Others are found in my surroundings. The smallest thing can trigger an idea. And lastly, many designs come from personal experiences and feelings such as “In the Arms of the Angels”, dedicated to loss and hope, and ”Just Add Love”, which was my 2020 quilt, first searching for light and love in the darkness, then spreading that love in full color. Every design has a special meaning for me.

Why Cotton Street Commons?

Cotton Street Commons is A Gathering Place for Creativity. First, I look at patterns as a steppingstone. While some make the pattern exactly as is, there are many designs that let you add your own creativity and personal touches. I have traditional pieced quilts updated with a modern feel. Next, are Collage Wall Hangings. They start with pieced backgrounds adding extra interest. Through the collage process, can make it your own, but adding as much or as little as you want. One of my specialties are pieced/applique quilts. I have created a fun artistic method for applique that makes it very easy. The technique combines thread colour and whimsical stitching which adds a new dimension to the quilt The Bag and Apron patterns combine beauty and function.
